Time for Thanksgiving!

Englewood Florida weather in November is a little cooler than previous months. So, you can probably turn off the air conditioning at night as the average low temperature dips to around 60 F. November is the second driest month of the year with only a little over 2 inches of precipitation. (And let me remind you that none of the precipitation falls as snow!)

November is the month when the population of the Englewood area, actually the entire Gulf Coast, starts to explode with incoming snowbirds from the northern United States and Canada.

November is the month that Thanksgiving is celebrated in the United States. Although the temperatures are conducive to rounds of golf on Englewood’s great golf courses and wonderful strolls on any of Englewood’s four fabulous beaches, it is also a time to begin preparations for the Christmas season.

Thanksgiving falls late in the month and on that day, I promise you the streets of Englewood will be extremely quiet, except for a few cars traveling to visit and celebrate the holiday with friends and family.

But, that situation certainly will change the next morning, the Friday after Thanksgiving. On that day, the Christmas shopping season kicks into overdrive in a hurry. The first clue that something unique is going to happen on Friday morning will occur on Thursday night. While watching the football game on television, the commercials will broadcast all the specials to be had at the early morning sales. And, when I say early, I mean EARLY! At 5:00 and 6:00 am the stores were open.

The once quiet streets of Thanksgiving Day will be teeming with shoppers looking for bargains on Friday morning.

Thanksgiving weekend is a crazy time in Englewood and everywhere else in the United States. But it is a great time for all.

Also remember, try not to travel on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving as this is one of the busiest travel days of the year in the United States.

Englewood Florida weather in November means great golf. The cool temperatures mean a sweater is a possibility and as well as the other activities that you can do, I would like to suggest another way to spend some time.

In previous years, the Cedar Point Environmental Park offered some great walking tours in November. This is a great way to spend part of a cooler November day.

Florida Tourist Tip:

November 1 marks the beginning of peak tourist season. Accommodation prices go up this month, or next, so be aware when you are booking your trip.
