One of the first things that we see when we return to Englewood from any trip is the Myakka Pines Golf Club.

To get to Englewood, we always take exit 191 (River Road) on I-75. Although we are often tired from our long journey our spirits rise as we drive along River Road. Perhaps our happiness is due to the fact that we are close to our destination.

But, there might be another reason why our spirits soar as we drive towards our favorite Florida destination. About eight or nine miles west of I-75 we see the sign announcing the entrance to the Myakka Pines Golf Club.

We are both avid golfers and we enjoy nature. The Myakka Pines Golf Club is a Florida golf course that offers us not only a great golfing venue, but also a wonderful natural setting to enjoy as we play our round of golf.

This golf course offers a variety of options for your Florida golf experience. Myakka Pines boasts three distinct nine hole golf venues, the Red, Blue and White golf courses. You can choose any combination to create a unique 18-hole golf experience.

Each of the three nine-hole settings offers a different golfing scenario, but all are about the same yardage. Most 18-hole combinations will be played over a distance that stretches to the mid-6,000 yard range.

The presence of water on a majority of the holes and rich forest growth lining the Bermuda Grass fairways, means that there is plenty of opportunity to see a variety of Florida wildlife as you make your way from tee to green.

Green Fees and Memberships

According to the golf club’s website, members can always get a tee time. Members can book tee times four days in advance and can be teeing off as early as 7:30 am. However, non-members can only book tee times three days in advance and can only start after 9:00 am.
