Vacation Activities In and Around Englewood

Vacation activities abound in the immediate vicinity around Englewood. Despite its relatively small size, Englewood offers many of the amenities of the larger vacation destinations without the blare of neon lights.

We enjoy going to Englewood beach. This is almost a daily routine. We go to one of the four beaches in the immediate area either to swim or just to walk along the sandy shoreline.

When the grandchildren are visiting, these walks along the beach take considerably longer as we all have to stop and admire each “unique” seashell that is discovered.

Our trips to the beach usually follow a round of golf, a hike at one of the area parks or some of the other great vacation activities (see our list below) that fill our lives in Englewood.

Some of our friends really enjoy the abundant opportunities to fish. After all, Englewood is located on water and there are many waterways in the area.

My wife loves to garden and feed the birds that come to the backyard. (Did I mention that she has a fantastic website about backyard birding. It is called The-Scoop-on-Wild-Birds-and-Feeders.com)

Downtown Englewood has some great nostalgia shops and is a fun place just to visit.

A friend of ours is an active supporter of the Englewood Community Theater (Lemon Bay Playhouse). The Englewood Art Center offers a wide spectrum of interesting activities covering a broad range of artistic endeavors.

Every once in a while, we take trips beyond the area. These trips are usually focused around a visit to a theme park or to attend a sporting event.
