Florida motels offer a variety of experiences and this one will not disappoint. (Unless of course you are looking for a high end stay, so you can tip the valet and receive room service.)
Where to stay in Florida? This is a question that comes to mind when you are considering a vacation in the Sunshine State.
Grove City Motel provides visitors to Englewood with an affordable, yet enjoyable place to stay. It is like a small version of a Florida vacation home, where you share some of the amenities such as the outdoor heated swimming pool and tropical gardens, which the motel has been awarded recognition by the local Chamber of Commerce.
During the years that we have traveled to Florida we always knew where we would stay in Englewood. However, in recent years we have tried various locations, for at least part of our visit to our favorite Florida destination.
In January we booked into the Grove City Motel for two weeks. We were not entirely unfamiliar with this Florida accommodation destination. Judy’s aunt, after she sold her home in Englewood had stayed there on a number of occasions and extolled it’s virtues to one and all in the family and to friends as well.
This is one of the lovely Florida motels we all would like to stay in. The décor of the units are a welcoming tropical style, with furniture and colors to match. The small but sufficiently equipped kitchens offer all the necessities for a holiday that you probably plan to dine out for most of the time anyway.
But it is always a good thing in my mind not to have get up and get dressed to have breakfast out every morning. Once in a while is a good thing, but usually the trip up and home are enough for me. I enjoy sitting and listening to the news or reading the paper quietly with my coffee. And Grove City Motel offers that quietude. Judy enjoys the pool side where she can watch the birds and enjoy the gardens.
The kitchen space takes up one end of the room and the other end makes up the living room with a TV and WIFI connection available. Which is a necessity for us!
The open air bedrooms are equipped with twin beds or one queen size bed, with a night stand, dresser and closet space.
The bathroom was clean, appropriately decorated for the Florida climate and fresh towels supplied daily.
Judy really enjoyed walking in the backyard area. Besides the pleasant swimming space, the garden area behind the motel features gorgeous tropical flowers, a variety of palm trees, bamboo stands and many other lush plants. And of course there were plenty of birds representing a variety of species to thrill a birdwatcher like Judy.
Take your camera when you venture into this exotic walking area behind this Florida motels garden area. The pictures that you take home will provide plenty of wonderful memories of why we all enjoy Englewood Florida.
Grove City Motel is an older building on SR 775 also called Placida Road. It is within an easy driving distance of the main shopping areas in Englewood. And, although it is not a beachfront accommodation it is only a short drive of a couple of minutes to sunset vistas that will dazzle you!
Turn left out of the motel’s parking lot and a quick trip of about three minutes on Placida Road and San Casa brings you to SR 776 about 500 yards from Walmart. Turn right out of the motel’s parking lot and a journey of about four minutes (it is about one mile in distance) will bring you to the Merchants Crossing with its Publix Store.
Turn left at 776 in front of Merchants Crossing and in five minutes you will be on Beach Road, ready to enjoy any one of Englewood’s four fabulous beaches.
One of the primary questions one asks themselves when they are considering where to stay in Florida is the price. Grove City Motel is a modest price.
There are Florida motels which do not allow pets but Grove City was great for us. It is pet friendly with no extra charges for your pet. Our Bichon, Boogie loved it. He really enjoyed the little lizards too, green anoles, which are often kept as pets themselves by Floridians.
