An Englewood Florida restaurant review for Zeke’s Uptown Bar & Grill.
There is gold in Englewood!
To be precise, there is gold to be found on Dearborn Street in Old Englewood.
Have I got your attention yet?
Judy and I have discovered gold at an unusual location, Zeke’s Uptown Bar and Grill.
We found the food to be excellent (more on that topic
later), but the golden part occurred when we ordered dessert. Our server
suggested that Judy might like to try...
and just in case you have difficulty reading the description snapped from the menu.
Chocolate Marquis: 'Signature' Dessert With Rich Layers Of Chocolate Genois, Milk Chocolate Mousse & a Dark Chocolate Ganache Dusted With Pure 24k Gold.
Sounds pretty chocolaty don’t you think? But the surprise addition to this rich taste treat is that it is sprinkled with 24 KARAT GOLD!
And, of course there was a generous portion of whipped cream!
Despite the fact that I am diabetic and not a big fan of chocolate, I could not resist sampling Judy’s rather generous serving of Zeke’s dessert specialty.
I am sure that Zeke’s would not mind if you just dropped by to try their “golden goodie”, but you really should try out the various delights on the menu of main course items.
I ordered Zeke’s “Steak and Cake” from their very diverse and interesting menu and it was fabulous. The tenderloin with a mushroom demi-glaze was well-presented and tasted absolutely wonderful. The most delicious crab cake that I have ever eaten accompanied my steak. The taste and generous helping of food left me quite satisfied with really very little room for dessert!
While Judy enjoyed her dessert, she was equally delighted by her selection of Sauerbraten Sirloin which consisted of a Black Angus sirloin prepared in a sauerbraten red wine. This delectable choice was enhanced by a salad that featured a mango vinaigrette salad dressing.
This all sounds expensive, doesn’t it? But in fact, this price, including the “golden” dessert and drinks, was very moderate (about $50.00).
Zeke’s have only been located on Dearborn Street for a short time, but they are not new to the Englewood area.
After many years at the Royal Palm Marina, they relocated to the Old Englewood section of town in July 2014.
As visitors to our website know, we delight in spending time in Englewood and especially, the Old Englewood region of town and its many great eateries and unique shops and Zeke’s Uptown Bar and Grill is just another reason why we Enjoy Englewood Florida!
